What is the GOALLINE Spares System?
The GOALLINE Spares System is a feature that is used along with the GOALLINE Team Attendance feature. If there are not enough players for a game then you choose the spares and emails will be sent to ask if they would like to play.
How is the feature activated?
You must contact GOALLINE support at 1-866-443-4625 option 2 or support@goalline.ca.
How are spare players created?
Spare players are created by manually creating player profiles or using our Player Import feature. Players must be created with a rank. Once the players have been created they will need to be assigned to the League, not a team.
How do I see the spare players list?
After the players have been assigned to the league from the Master Menu select the League from the League menu drop-down. Navigate to the League Admin Tab and select the Players/Parents menu item. Once here, find "Select another roster here" on the right-hand-side, then choose "VIEW SPARES LIST" from the drop-down and click Go. Your spare players will appear below.
How do I invite spares to a game?
To invite spares to play in a game, from the Master Menu select the league from the League Menu drop-down. Navigate to the League Admin Tab and select the Team Attendance menu item. Find the team needing spare players in the "SELECT A TEAM" drop-down. Under "View Game Attendance" choose the game. If you do not have enough players click "Add Spares for this team." Choose all players that should receive an invitation to the game and click Invite Spares to send the Attendance email to your selected spare players.
The email sent to the invited players is similar to the one sent out for team attendance. Make sure that there is enough room for all players that have been invited, since there is no control on the number of spots being filled other than who is chosen to be a spare. All players that have been invited as spares are able to accept the invitation.
If the spares accept (click yes), they'll be added to the team as an affiliate player if they're not already there, and they'll be added to the game roster for when you're scoring the game.
Affiliate players do not get the automatically-generated emails, so for all players added to the team via the spares list, they'll remain on the team, but not get the attendance email for future games.
