Main Contact website administrators may move a registration record from one profile to another. This applies to both individual and team registration records. Registration data is found in a profile under the "View Payment History" tab.

Registrations cannot be changed to just any profile, they can only be moved to another profile that the system flags as a possible duplicate.
You can move registration to another profile if the other profile contains either:
  • Same first name, last name and date of birth
  • Same first name and last name
It is now also possible to view the profile ID inside the profile (not just in the search results listing). This will help identify the proper record to move registration data to or from.
To move a registration record:
  1. Edit the profile where the registration record currently resides
  2. Click the "Change Person" button. This is located at the top of an individual registration record and at the bottom of a team registration record.
  3. If no possible duplicate is found, a message will pop up indicating that. If you believe there is a duplicate, it could be that the duplicate doesn't match enough of the criteria (think spelling errors) for the system to see it as a duplicate.
  4. If one or more duplicates are found, a pop up window will open with a drop down list of the possible duplicates, including the profile ID.
  5. Select the appropriate profile and click to move the registration.
  6. After the page reloads, the registration record will indicate that it has been moved to the specified profile ID.
  7. Change the access code for the profile to ensure the participant will be able to access the right account going forward.

Once registration data has been moved out of a duplicate profile, the duplicate can be deleted. A tip regarding this is to edit the name of the duplicate to indicate very clearly that this is the duplicate record. Be advised - don't edit the name of the duplicate before moving the registration records as this could stop the system from recognizing the similar data.
