Add Edit Delete Ads Tool

This video explains how to use the Add Edit Delete Ads tool in your GOALLINE powered website to create advertisements

Advertisements will appear on the right hand side of the webpage. Depending on how they are set up, ads can be displayed statically, or in a cyclic format. Most advertisements consist of a photo or logo and a link from that photo to the sponsors' website.

Creating an Advertisement

1. Go to "Master Menu" - "Communication" - "Add Edit Delete Ads"
2. Enter the title of the ad. The title is not displayed on the public side, but is viewable only by other administrators to reference the ad for editing purposes.
3. Click the "Image" button to add a picture.
4. This opens a separate window to upload the photos.
5. Click the "Browse Server" button to access the system photo library.
6. This pulls up a complete list of all the pictures stored on the server. If you would like to use a photo that has already been uploaded, just select it from the list. Note: If you want to use a file that's on your computer, you have to upload it to the server first. You can find out how to do this here.
7. The photo will appear in the Preview Window.
8. You can set the size of the images in the ratios box. The ideal dimensions for an ad image are 240x290 or 250x300 if the 5 pixel padding has been removed.
9. By default, the ratios are locked so when a change is made to one dimension, the other dimension is changed in scale.
10. To turn the image into a link, highlight it and click the "Insert/Edit Link" button.
11. Enter the URL address you want the ad to point to.
12. To make the ad open in another browser tab when clicked, select the "TARGET" tab.
13. Choose "New Window (_blank)" and click "OK".
14. Once your ad is created, you will need to select what pages you want to have the ad display on. Select the specific pages you wish to display your ads on and click "preview".
15. If you are happy with the ad, select "accept ad" to publish your ad to the public side of the site. If not, press back on your browser and keep editing

Editing an Advertisement

1. The ads are listed with an "edit" button next to each ad. Click the "edit" button next to the ad you want to edit.
2. Make the changes you want to the ad .
3. Click "Preview" when finished. This will take you to a screen that displays the ad exactly how it will appear on the site. If it looks good, click "Accept Ad". If you need to make edits, press the Back button in your browser and make the necessary edits.

Deleting an Advertisement

1. Click "Delete Advertisements" located above list of ads.
2. A list of ads will be displayed.
3. Click the button next to the ads you want deleted. Multiple ads can be selected.
4. Once the ads are selected click "Delete Checked".

NOTE: If you are in the responsive design and in the GoalLine National Ads you must use the Tall, 2 Ads setting to see your created ads.
