What are Player Transfer Tools?

Player transfer tools use GOALLINE's online registration features. A transfer is triggered when a player or coach registers with a different association than one they currently belong to. The transfer is limited to organizations that fall within the GOALLINE network of orgnizations.

For example, a hockey player with the Dartmouth Whalers can register for an unrelated soccer program with the Dartmouth United Soccer Club without triggering any notification or request for transfer - the organizations are unrelated. If, however, a soccer player from Dartmouth United were to register with the Bedford Soccer Association, a player transfer would occur.

There are two types of player transfer tools:

  1. Notify associations only - A player transfer does not need approval.

When the player from Dartmouth United registers with Bedford like in our example above, the administrators from the DU club receive an automatic email notification advising them of the registration. This is for information purposes. The transfer does not need to be approved by DU.

This allows organizations within a network to be aware of their players registration activity with other associations so that it can be monitored and dealt with on a per player basis as needed. Players who are allowed to attend camps and clinics with other clubs can register and the administrators wouldn't need to action anything. If, however, the player registration is for regular league play, the administrators may need to investigate the players eligibility.
    1. The notification email uses th subject line "Player Transfer to [Destination Club]."

The body of the email will include:

      "Player Transfer to [Destination Club]
The following player who originally registered with [Original Club] has registered with [Destination Club].
      [PlayerFirstName] [PlayerLastName] born September 9, 2004 ([Email@address])
You are receiving this email as the main contact for your association.
Should you have any concerns about this player's registration, please contact the club or region administrator."
  2. Current association must approve - A player transfer must be approved or denied.

When a player registers with any other organization in the network, a player transfer request is initiated. The request can be approved by an administrator from the original club. The request can also be denied.

The registration confirmation received by the player/parent will indicate clearly that "A player transfer request has been generated. This must be approved before you can be assigned to a team." Players cannot be assigned to teams in the new organization until the transfer has been approved.

    To approve a transfer:
    1. login to the Master Menu of your GOALLINE site.
    2. Move to the "People" section
    3. Click on "Player Transfer Requests"
    4. Click to Approve or Deny any pending transfers

How are Player Transfers Enabled?

You are able to enable player/coach transfers from the Master Menu - Communication Tab - Site Configuration - Teams section. In order to use Player Transfer features, you must currently be using Online Registration. You do not require historical registration data.
